ILGA–North America and the Caribbean (ILGA-NAC) was established in 2021, evolving from ILGA–North America to better reflect and respond to the distinct realities of both North America and the Caribbean. ILGA-NAC is committed to creating tailored advocacy and support for 2SLGBTQI+ communities across these regions. Today, ILGA-NAC works to strengthen inclusive, effective, and region-specific advocacy, advancing the rights and well-being of 2SLGBTQI+ people in all their diversity.

Sharon Mottley
In her career spanning 30+ years, Sharon Mottley has worked in both the corporate and non‑governmental sectors in Trinidad and Tobago and the United States. Her professional and personal undertakings are guided by her belief that social responsibility and volunteerism are key to addressing what ails us as a society and a people. She has committed to doing her part to ensuring fairness and justice for the most vulnerable and ending discrimination through education and empowerment. She is currently the Regional Program Manager for ILGA-NAC.
Sharon holds a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and Baruch College, with a specialization in Human Resources Management. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of the West Indies
